We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Holiday Community Fellowship Church.

This study is open to anyone who wants to know more about God’s Holy Word. Come with your Bible. Bring a notepad if you like to take notes. Most importantly, come with an open heart.

Let’s continue writing “Chapter 29” together.

Let’s meditate on the Word.
Let’s be conformed to the image of Christ.
Let’s become doers, not just hearers.
And let’s go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit to carry His Holy Name to all nations.

The story is still being written.

ACTS 29 exists to prepare believers to live on mission—locally and globally. Whether in Holiday, Florida, or across the nations, we are witnesses. Our study time equips us to speak truth, demonstrate love, and represent Christ faithfully in every sphere of life.

A Bible-Centered Walk

As a nondenominational Christian fellowship, our foundation is the Word of God. We are not gathered around a denominational label; we are gathered around Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture.

We believe the Bible is inspired, living, and powerful:

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season.” (Psalm 1:2–3, NKJV)

David also declared:

“I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.” (Psalm 119:15, NKJV)
“My eyes are awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word.” (Psalm 119:148, NKJV)

Meditation produces stability. It produces fruit. It roots us deeply so that we are not easily shaken by cultural pressures or personal trials.

The New Testament echoes this same principle:

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble… meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8, NKJV)
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2, NKJV)

ACTS 29 trains our minds to dwell on eternal truth. We are intentional about renewing our thinking so that our lives reflect Christ from the inside out.

Called to Take the Gospel to the World

Meditation leads to mission.

We are not called to grow in knowledge for knowledge’s sake. We are called to carry the Gospel.

After His resurrection, Jesus declared:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matthew 28:18–20, NKJV)

He commanded:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15, NKJV)

He clarified the message:

“…that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations…” (Luke 24:47, NKJV)

And He commissioned His followers personally:

“As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21, NKJV)

The power for this mission comes from the Holy Spirit:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me… to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NKJV)

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…” (Hebrews 4:12, NKJV)

Our desire is simple: to know Christ, to grow in His Word, and to obey Him fully. We want our theology to shape our practice, and our practice to reflect biblical truth.

Let’s meditate on the Word.
Let’s be conformed to the image of Christ.
Let’s become doers, not just hearers.

Words to Encourage

By David Erwin, 03/01/2026

In sheep farming, there’s a term called a “bummer lamb.” Sometimes, for reasons no one fully understands, a mother sheep refuses to nurse her newborn and pushes it away from the flock. If the shepherd doesn’t step in, that lamb won’t just die from lack of food—it will die from discouragement, from losing the will to live.

So the shepherd intervenes. He brings the lamb into his own home. He bottle-feeds it, keeps it warm, protects it, and gives it the care and attention it needs to survive and grow strong.

When the lamb is healthy enough, the shepherd returns it to the flock.

Here’s the beautiful part: when the shepherd walks into the field in the morning and calls his sheep, the ones who were once “bummer lambs” recognize his voice immediately. They run straight to him—and the rest of the flock follows their lead.

That’s a powerful picture of God’s love for us when we feel rejected, forgotten, or broken. He is the Good Shepherd. He draws near to the weak, the hurting, and the overlooked. He restores us, strengthens us, and brings us back into community—whole and secure.

As it says in Gospel of John 10:14, Jesus declares:
“I am the Good Shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me.”

What Is ACTS 29 Bible Study?

By George L. Rosario, 03/03/2026

First things first: yes, we know there is no 29th chapter in the Book of Acts of the Apostles. It’s not a misprint. It’s not an oversight. It’s intentional.

We chose the name ACTS 29 because we believe the story of the Church did not end with chapter 28. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early believers is still at work today. In that sense, we are living in “Chapter 29” right now. Our lives, our obedience, our witness, and our faithfulness are part of the ongoing testimony of what Jesus Christ continues to do through His people.

ACTS 29 is our reminder that we are called not just to read the Bible—but to step into the story.

Our Mission: “Get Into the Story”

ACTS 29 is a Sunday Morning Bible Study devoted to motivating followers of our Lord Jesus Christ to fully engage in their Christian walk. Our desire is to be conformed to the image of Christ and to live in such a way that our daily lives reflect Him clearly.

Scripture tells us:

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…” (Romans 8:29, NKJV)

We are not gathering merely for information. We are gathering for transformation.

We want to live in such a way that when people see us—at church, at home, at work, in public—they can “read” Jesus in us. The Apostle Paul wrote:

“You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.” (2 Corinthians 3:2, NKJV)

In other words, our lives are living letters. ACTS 29 challenges us to ask: What are people reading when they see us?

Becoming Doers of the Word

Our heart for this study is rooted in obedience. The Word of God instructs us clearly:

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22, NKJV)

It is possible to attend church, study Scripture, and still remain unchanged. ACTS 29 exists to push us beyond passive listening into active discipleship. We want to grow in spiritual maturity, in biblical understanding, and in practical application.

We come together to wrestle with Scripture, to pray, to encourage one another, and to ask how God’s Word should shape our decisions, attitudes, and relationships.

Called to Meditate on the Word of God

A central focus of ACTS 29 is biblical meditation—not empty repetition, but thoughtful, Spirit-led reflection on God’s truth.

The Lord commanded Joshua:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8, NKJV)

The blessed man in the Psalms is described this way:

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.

ACTS 29 exists to prepare believers to live on mission—locally and globally. Whether in Holiday, Florida, or across the nations, we are witnesses. Our study time equips us to speak truth, demonstrate love, and represent Christ faithfully in every sphere of life.
